Bridal Hair & Makeup in Lakewood Ranch

Lakewood Ranch weddings are the country-club kind: a clubhouse, a ballroom, a larger party and a longer day. Anie brings her full bridal hair and makeup experience to the house or the club.

She Comes To You

No salon. No driving on your wedding morning.

Lakewood Ranch weddings tend to run long before the ceremony starts, with more people getting ready and more ground to cover between the clubhouse and the lawn. Anie comes to you instead: the family home or a room at the club, so that time goes into hair and makeup, not a drive to a salon and back.

Lakewood Ranch

Getting married in Lakewood Ranch

The Ranch is a master-planned community east of the interstate, and the weddings here look different from the beach ones: more formal, more guests, more of the day spent moving between an air-conditioned interior and an outdoor terrace.

Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club

A 44,000-square-foot clubhouse of marble columns and arches, with a grand ballroom, an attached outdoor patio and a spiral staircase. It seats up to 220.

Getting ready at home

A great many Lakewood Ranch couples get ready at a family home rather than a hotel. Anie brings everything to you.

Larger bridal parties

Club weddings tend to mean more people in the chair. Bridesmaid makeup drops to $120 per person once six or more are having makeup done.

Indoors and out

Ceremony on the lawn, reception in the ballroom: the day usually crosses between the two more than once.

Main Street and Waterside Place

Lakewood Main Street is where the rehearsal dinner usually lands: The Grove, Paris Bistro and Ford's Garage are all within a block of each other. Waterside Place, on Kingfisher Lake, is the newer of the two centres and the better one for photos, with a boardwalk on the water, a Sunday farmers market and Ranch Nite food trucks on Wednesdays.

The other clubs

Beyond the Country Club, The Concession Golf Club hosts weddings on a course laid out by Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin, Esplanade and Rosedale both have clubhouses with lawn ceremonies, and the Sarasota Polo Club holds weddings on its fields, with matches on Sundays from December to April if your guests are staying the weekend.

Nathan Benderson Park

The rowing park at the edge of the Ranch has a two-kilometre lake, a finish tower and long open lawns, and it is the closest thing to a big-sky backdrop this far inland. The Mall at UTC is across the road for anything the wedding party forgot.

Where the wedding party stays

The Even Hotel and Hyatt Place sit at the Main Street end, Homewood Suites and the Fairfield Inn are along University Parkway and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, and most of the rest of the party stays with family in one of the villages. Anie comes to whichever of those the bride is in.

Built For The Day

Makeup that survives a Florida wedding

A larger party is a timing problem before it is anything else. Anie sets the schedule in advance so nobody is rushed and the bride is finished last, closest to the ceremony, and the makeup is long-wear, built to last the day and photograph under both ballroom light and afternoon sun.

The Morning

Timing, set in advance

Anie builds the wedding-morning timeline with you before the day, working backwards from your ceremony: who is in the chair when, how long each person takes, and when the bride is finished. The bride goes last, closest to the ceremony. Start times before 7 AM are never a problem; they simply carry a $50 early-start fee.
